What is Pilates?
Pilates is a form of whole body exercise, developed by Joseph Pilates, which emphasises on the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility and awareness in order to support efficient, graceful movement. In short: Stretch with Strength and Control.

What are the benefits?
The top benefits of doing Pilates exercise that my students report, are that they become stronger, longer, leaner and more able to do any movement with ease. Any kind of (cardio) exercise or other sport will benefit from your Pilates exercises.

To get the most out of your Pilates ZOOM session, please follow these 3 steps:

Step 1:
Set up your Space
Grab a mat. A Pilates mat is thicker than a yoga mat. It is important to have the extra thickness for any of the exercises where you will be rolling on your spine.
Find a quiet location and turn up the lights. Lighting will make it easier for me to see and correct you as you move.
Please place your computer or tablet far enough away that I can see your whole body. Please ensure it is on a stable surface.

Step 2: Set up your Technology
I am using ZOOM video conferencing for the live Pilates sessions.
Prior to your session you will receive an email with the link to your ZOOM call.
Fifteen minutes before your lesson the meeting will be open for you to join. Simply click on the link to enter the live session.
Ensure your computer, smartphone, or tablet is charged or plugged into a power source prior to the lesson.
Be informed that I will be able to observe you from my big screen and will cue you accordingly.
All participants are muted to enhance focus and concentration.

Step 3: Set up your Body
Wear some comfortable sleek fitting exercise clothes and socks if you need to keep your feet warm. You want clothing that is easy to move in but not too loose so I can easily make corrections to your movement. Have some water nearby.

Join a Group session
Pilates exercises can be taught at various levels during a group class, therefore suitable for beginners to experienced practitioners.
Verbal cueing is in English.

Choose a Duet session
If you prefer to do Pilates just with one buddy, then a Duet session can be scheduled.

Or enjoy Personal Training
You are also welcome to have a Personal Training session at your convenience.
Verbal cueing can be either in English, Spanish or Dutch.
